What is the procedure for warming up an Eco-diesel. There is a local kid with one that is pretty slow, he says. Same stuff with as with a TD? Timing, flow screw, etc? Anything special in terms of the IP?
TIA

you wanna warm it up? put a real pump on it..
the IP on the eco is JUNK..
Other than the IP being 8mm and not the best as ROR states, then yes, all the normal stuff should apply.
a real pump will help out lots..
a real TURBO will make it night n day different..
It's best just to start driving them to warm them up and just take it easy
Its going to get a real pump next weekend. There is one available with LDA looking altitude compensator. Are these convertible to an LDA? Ive never seen the inside of one of those.
Same IP, just add the boost to the top of the aneroid.
The ECO pump is not that bad. I quote meeself:
My NA and TD pumps are all 9mm plunger. e.g. 460 494 XXXX
The only 8mm pump I have is an ECO... The ECO camplate has a 2.55mm lift, so it can deliver about the same amount of fuel, at higher pressure.
9mm pump: (3.14 * 4.52) * 2.19 = 1.3925115 cm3
ECO pump: (3.14 * 4.02) * 2.55 = 1.28112 cm3
That's about an 8% difference in pump output at max fuelling (which you can do, if you like to make clouds of soot).
My point being, even the ECO IP can overfuel in normal to spirited driving, with the full-load cranked to the max. Of course, if you want to push the far-end of the tach, the 8% more fuel from a 9mm IP is step one.
I have an ECO IP on an NA... it makes plenty of soot.
Td pump on my eco its very nice.
