Hey everybody, I need a 5spd tranny for my 1994 jetta TD.
I would also appreciate any help regarding the tranny codes that would fit my TD. I have herd that tranny's with the code ACN will fit but I am unsure...
Thanks
Chris
no one is willing to help ths calgary dubber out?
The ACN will work, and it's gearing is pretty good.It has a 3.67 final drive, and a .75 fifth, for lower cruising RPM.There were a bunch of similar 8V trannies that were all the same, like the the ASF,ACL,AON.
For best power and acceleration,I prefer the 3.94 final drive ratio, which was available in the ACH,AOP,AWY,AGS trannies (and a few others). The ones to look for are the ones that have the .075 fifth gear, like the AOP and AGS.
spock. I've got that tranny for you. I didn't mean to be a dork, but I've worked about 40 hours in the last 2.5 nights, so I'm pretty fried. I took a look at it and to my suspicion, the pushrod was missing as was the dust cap.
Hopefully, someone has some insight on how difficult putting another pushrod in is. The 90mm ACN I've got has it in, but doesn't want to give it up easily.
That's the main reason I wasn't overly responsive in handing it over. Now, if the pushrod turns out to be pretty cheap, you can pick it up and install it (maybe even use the one from your current tranny...anyone???) or I can do it too.
The other option I could try is to swap the flanges from one tranny to the other. If that's an easier option, I can likely accomodate that.
