Where can I get an oil pump for my vanagon AAZ. Thanks, Paolo
A regular AAZ pump will work if you reuse your old pump cover and pickup. The cover should be lapped on a piece of plate glass to make sure it's flat and free of scoring.
I believe the part # is 068115105BP
This is for the AAZ in a vanagon with the 50 degree engine (an the weird aluminum oil pan)..
Do a search on ebay motors using this number
The stock non-turbo diesel vanagon oil pump pickup tube should *not* be used. It has the integral oil control valve sized for a 30mm oil pump. The AAZ should have a 36mm pump and the properly sized oil control valve to fit it. Luckily the later 1.6TD vanagons had the 36mm oil pump with the correct oil pressure control valve. Get the whole pump.
Just curious,
Libby - what does the 36mm designate - the width of the pump gears?
I'd like to check the new one I just bought just to be sure.
(not to rob your post Paolo)
It's the height of the gears.
Thanks for all the help. One more question concerning oil pumps. The bushings that are pressed into the engine block that the oil pump shaft goes through, where can i get me some. Seems to me that there a bit sloppy. Paolo.
