that's the difference between the west and the rest. The cars out here are in such ridiculously good shape. southwest oregon is kinda like cali. only rust is a little surface on nothing less than thirty years it seems....

Unless it lived at elevation in snow sitting, which doesn't happen
In this neck of the woods, A rust bucket Fox (when one surfaces) typically brings about $500 and up.. If it's in tact and doesn't need another grand sunk into it to make the carcass road worthy (before swapping in the diesel) it's a steal at $1000..

Foxes are literally worthless on this side of the country. They are cars that people will give away. I have seen clean, running ones offered for $500, and take a long time to sell. I don't know why, maybe because they have a lot of parts that aren't shared with other models and I think getting them to pass smog can be an issue.
what would it take to shimmy a 1.6 td into a fox wagon?
You need a few things that are different on the transverse mounted cars, the oilpan, intake and exhaust manifolds, a few other odds and ends and the mounts. Look through vortex for quantum projects, I think there are a couple audi 80/90/100 projects both here and on vortex. It's a parts bin project but not as much custom stuff as it will take to mount one in a saturn.

Yup.. Even Mk1 and 2 Rabbits/Jettas/Golfs are scarce.. Rust + High scrap prices cleaned them out.. I give it another few years and the early MKIII stuff should be about gone too (Not necessarily a bad thing)... The high scrap price the last few years has really been the killer... Why bother to try selling something when you can just haul it in and walk away with an easy $400 bucks...
It rotted out 10 years ago. LMAO
going mtdi and using a mech clutch this would be darn easy aside fom making some axles work and tossing in a manual rack wich my first saturn had and I didn't even realize until one day I deceided to do a fluid replace and lo and behold no ps ressy. o yea and a little bit of wiring for cooling fans and tach o meter and temp sensor. it would be great at least to me to meld my two favorite autos together.
