Popped my seat out today and noticed that it is missing the bracket that goes into the channel on the drivers left hand side (wondered why it was rocking..). Dealer says its a whole assembly, and it's no longer available. Seats are Recaro, out of a Golf. Any laying around please let me know. AGAIN, many thanks in advance. Any exploded diagrams welcomed.

Duuhhhhhhh. Not good with cars.. My apologies.
Looking at it AGAIN, it is the assembly that the plastic 'thingy' goes over with a shaft that goes to the seat.. My drivers side left one is missing.
Again, my apologies. Title changed. Thanks for the fast reply
and correction.

ok.. so its a mk2 recaro?? your saying the detachable bottom frame is damaged??
if so recaro will still make a frame for mk1/mk2 for 175ish... not willing to sell my "spare" electric set yet..
can you post a pic if the issue??
also what do you have the seat in, pass/drivers side so on..
more info helps..
Problem was fixed last night at a friends house who is redoing a 81 N/A rabbit with 40k original.
That's why I love this site. Even an idiot like me can get great answers and assistance when needed.
Thanks again.

If you still want to buy one of the plastic sliders I've seen them in the Parts Place catalog.

I'm going to buy a few and keep them as spares. Seems almost every time I come on here looking for advice, it ends up being so simple (well for you guys) and I feel like a putz. But always amazed at the knowledge you guys have on here.
Can't fix a thing, but I'm a walking mapquest (so I'm told). Which didn't come in handy when my alternator fried..

But it is a complete 180 what those 'silly little plastic' pieces can do to a seat. That Recaro is even more comfy. Especially on Brooklyn streets. Didn't get to take it across the Country like I wanted to, but if I can swap some tours at work and get time off, I still might. So as promised, first beer is on me if I get the time off.

I did 1,500 from NY to Binghamton, Toronto, Montreal and back home. Even with it moving like it did it was still a comfy seat. Every Recaro I saw on the internet had them in poor condition, with rips, missing pieces and the leg support all crushed and needing replacement. Guy outside Boston had these for $400 and $200 more to ship. Was cheaper for me to drive up there and get them , even with an overnight stay. Gave him my old set and he installed these. But man, you're on the money. In some ways these seats in a 23 year old VW are more comfy thatn my 2009 TDI. Even with the N/A, there is just something about driving a Mk2 that can't be explained. But many of you know that.
