Who-sells-it: 0.5mm O.S. AAZ piston ring set

Hey all
Had to bore mt AAZ 0.5mm over due to porosity in the bore surfaces. I have a set of pistons for this oversize, but now I need to find some piston rings to go with them. Any leads to a good reputable brand would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

I do not know IF it works, but the TDI should be the exact bore size. Someone would have to chime in who has done it, but I would think you could use them in your aaz. As far as brand I was completely impressed with the Goetze brand in the diesel I did.

Mind if I ask what vendor or site you bought those rings from? And I'm sure you're right about AAZ and TDI rings being compatible, I just can't find someone reputable who sells them, someone I can trust. Being a diesel n00b makes my first-time purchases a little tentative.

order a set from gowestyautoparts.com
get ones for a 98 Jetta TDI and you'll be all set.

Thanks, but are the Grant's good quality? The Goetze's only come in standard bore sizes, and ~$27 seems a little low-priced.

That's fine; NAPA didn't accept my plastic for some reason.

Tried IDParts already b4 thread; still STD size.

I'd call the guy at ID tomorrow he must be able to get a .5mm oversize ring set.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from; if he can get 0.5mm OS AHU pistons then he should be able to get just the rings.

Call autohaus az. If they don't have it and you have a part # or car it came from they can usually get it. I wouldn't use Topline rings and I dont' know about the grant either. I have heard mixed reviews on the Grants.

Call Summit Racing and order a set of Total Seal rings.
That's what I did. 5+ years later still ZERO blow-by.
Send from my mobile thingy. Never while driving though.

I was going to suggest total seal too.
I just needed to replace a broken oil ring for the 80mm 1.7 pistons and they had them.
