but they are threaded in metric M10x1.0, witch is VERY CLOSE to 1/8" npt, but not quite the same.

Very true. I'm guilty of cranking in a 1/8" pipe thread into one of these holes. No leaks and never had a problem. I don't recommend it though.

I'll be doing exactly that :-)
For whats its worth, i have been supplying my vnt and the turbo before that with oil from the cylinder head location. I also primed my engine prior to swapping on the vnt and had quite a bit of flow.
