i got the basic idea of replacing them but what are the tips and tricks.
Main goals:
To achieve best running:
Match break pressures.
Aim for about 5 bar above where you want them, if going by the book. [Because they settle]
Aim to be better than the 5 bar variation recommended by the book, say 2bar
Match leakoffs.
Older ones tend to leak less, but if your new ones are a poor tolerance and leak off a lot, be sure to match leakoff volumes, to give matched injected volumes. The only way to do this is to buy 6 or 8 of them.
Matching spray patterns.
Not so important on an IDI, but no drips wanted, or exhaust will smoke.
Set timing to the book, get warm, then adjust timing by moving pump, advanced or retarded until engine runs smoothly at idle. Usually just slightly retarded from 'bag of marbles' sound builds. Check acceleration... This is 'tuning' Measure and record actual timing figure with a timing gauge. -

so I picked up my injector nozzles today from my parts guy. I thought I got 4 nozzles 1 per box well ended up being two per box so I have 2 sets. I also ordered a set of glowplugs. I paid 100 for everything. the gp's are meyle brand made in slovenia nozzles were made in czech republic also meyle brand. thoughts?

pop tester i found on ebay made in india it looks like. worth it or is it garbage?

It looks as good as anything,but hard to tell accuracy of gauge. Not really a problem as long as you can see well enough to match the injectors.

Some of us like to fit 8" gauges
but personally, I'd aim for an older item, that was described as fully working if it were cheaper...

It does seem to be a trend for "European" manufacturing to be switching to the south-eastern eauropean countries... While I've not personally run into anything Meyle made in those two countries as of yet, it is a respected brand, so your components should be good (I'd put 'em in my car, for what it's worth). And furthermore, for the price you paid, it sounds like you got a pretty good deal.
