Well this guy must of though he was all that and bag a of chips when he was having a hard time passing me on street today. Here I am chugging along, when this Integra with what I like to call a fart bomb on that back was reving by when I decided to downshift and just slam my foot on the accelerator. There must of been a big a$$ cloud of sout that came out of that pipe. Neck to Neck and where trying hard to beat each other (I don't know how fast I'm going at this point). But this story as a sad ending  , he started to pull away when I finally ran out of boost and revs. :?
Got to get myself a little bit more boost!

reading posts like this make me want another G60. such a great torquey engine for knocking off all those silly japanese imports and neons. i remember a neon pulled the same thing the integra did to you... but i just kept in 4th gear at about 2200rpm and matted it... the neon was buzzing like a top and i left him behind like i dropped two gears
 sorry for the off-topic banter... maybe i should build a diesel G60

i was actually looking at both my cars....90 g60 and a 95 IDI golf....while rebuilding the diesel...i know i could fit a g60 bracket for the charger on it!!!! it would sure be very interesting to see something like this come to life....you could run a really small pulley and use it for the torque....

you could mount the supercharger and leave the turbo on. Blow the turbo into the supercharger for an instant-boost compound setup. get out the big intercooler!
That WOULD be a good setup.

thats what i was throwing around in my head, but wouldn't you get a better result from two turbos setup correctly with less parasitic loss? superchargers are $, especially keeping a G60 happy, + the bracketry would need to be made one-off.
convince me this afternoon that SC+TC is better than TCx2.
...and get back to work

I agree... I made a fun post about SC+TC in a TD on vwvortex last Summer.. I think it went two pages long. I wasn't serious about it, but it'd be a damn cool setup to brag about . 2 turbos seem to be the way to go.

From the Detroit Free Press, Jan. 25, 2006:
"It gets better. Last fall, Volkswagen introduced a Golf GT in Europe that has both a supercharger and a turbocharger. The supercharger improves low-end throttle response; the turbo kicks in to help generate 168 horsepower from a tiny 1.4-liter engine."
Don't know if this is true - but don't know why the Free Press would report it otherwise.
