the past while when i start my engine while it is cold, it would start right up right away, but would kinda chuckle/burp for like about 10-15 sec while the rpms rise..while this is happening there is alot of white smoke and smells. It has new glow plugs, new relay, new fuse, all that stuff is good. what else could it be? 378,000kms, oil needs to be changed (running 5w40 moblie one in it) gonne change to 15w40 for the summer..
I think probably the milage and general wear has something to do with it.
I have a 1600TD with 150,000+mile on it and its a bit like that ( I have been running it on Veg oil a bit and theres still some in the diesel) So I would say, filter (fuel) and general service will help, I guess it depends on how long its been like this for. It could be the injectors need a bit of a rebuild after so many miles as over time they do wear, they can struggle spray the right pattern which means it doesnt combust properly to start with then obviously after about 30 seconds or so some heat gets iton the head/cylinder walls and then diesel starts combusting regardless.
Any other symptoms of slight blue smoke or anything when its warmed up?
or it has a fuel leak, is losing prime..
my cars do the same thing, and its always from an air leak in the fuel line.
the car starts right up, soon as i turn the key. Idk when the filter was done so ill have to get the replaced, i message giles about how much to get injectors rebuilt but still didnt hear anything back yet. Theres alot of bubbles in the fuel line..

If you messaged him on the forum, im pretty sure he never comes on here. Best just give him a call.
nvm just got a email

.. still thought any more ideas of what could be wrong with my car?

idk if you hear the way it starts or not but doesnt sound right to me...
FWIW it sounds fine to me... a cold IDI engine is *always* going to smoke and rattle a bit louder than normal on a cold morning.. the glowplug can only heat so much of the combustion chamber.
You don't show the smoke, but unless it's a big cloud I'd say you're fine for a high-mileage IDI diesel.
Your starter, on the other hand, sounds like it's getting ready to let you down one day.
alright, ill try to get a vid of the smoke tomorrow its quite a bit to me, more then i have seen before and my gf was taking the vid and she didnt know she was suppose to shoot the smoke

..also this all started to happen after i put a 1.6td boost pin in it..dot towards the front. idk if that has anything to do with it. And i hope my starter doesnt go

how do you know that?
