Yeah.... we got all excited when we found a metal Ritz Cracker tin under the back seat, but alas...all it had was chewing tobacco.

Honestly...once I was parting out a Jetta I had bought out of a tow shop......and a "package" fell out of the base of one of the bucket seats. Didn't get much work done the rest of the day................

'72 or '73?
1970 actually...PO said he thought the engine was from something newer but it's a B-series which is vintage 1970 as well.
By "engine cover" do you mean lid on the engine compartment or something else? Been a while... ;-)

ive found other things in cars, like substances that would make you take your car apart just because your bored, then lose interest half way thru!

Can you fit the vac assist and front discs from a later bus? I'd definitely like it better if it had a diesel in the back.
They make spindle kits for adding discs to early Beetles but nothing I've found for the bus. Hell, I'm gonna have to work hard to find proper 3-point seatbelts.

Because it's built for the upright Beetle-style engine there's good height for different engines... I think while my daughter has it I'll leave it as is, but I could see a swap in its future. The local guys here are big on Subaru swaps...but those aint' diesel enough for me.

Gotta love that big old steering wheel. I forgot how big they were.
Looks like she is happy and that is about all that matters.

That is absolutely far out man.. Tell me that you'll be leaving the exterior alone!! Other than rust prevention work of course.....

I don't recall what year is was for sure, but about 10 years ago I junked one of these.. Quite the rust bucket, but worked nicely to store what else but rabbit parts until the roof rusted and leaked.. It had all the disc brake whatnot in tact...

Now you owe him some disk brakes
