• The first 3 digits of a 3k/warner turbo part number (K03, K24, K26 etc.) refer only to the basic bearing housing size. The next digits indicate (in no dicipherable way...) the particular wheels, wheel trims, turbine and compressor housings and their A/R ratios, water/oil cooling, wastegate etc. K24's vary widely in configuration. Only those used on 1.6TD VW's will bolt up to and work properly on 1.6TD VW's. Even the transverse and longitudinal versions have different part numbers. K24's from porche and audi gasoline engines are totally different beasts.

  yeah man, same here, although when i spotted an S2 K24 on german ebay the other day, i did notice that there was perhaps a wastegate issue, as there was one being sold separately in another auction
