Bigger turbo = bigger turbo lag
I've got small garrett T2 (hits about 1,5 bar max) it spools up quickly. On stock engine I don't need big boost, I run a little over 1bar (15 psi). Am I right?
Do You have bigger exhaust? I'm looking for 1.9 AAZ downpipe now

http://www.cossie.adsl.dk/~powerpage/turbo.php
fantastic link cheers
I will be looking for a k24 for my GTD engine too
I'm running just over 1bar on the k14 which is pretty much at the edge of its efficiency, and I still smoke quite alot, I've pretty much hit a celing for making more power with my set up at the moment, so a bigger turbo is the way forwrds
I probably could just turn the fueling back down a bit but that would just be silly

I reckon with good tuning of the lda you should be able to keep lag to a minimum, and have more capability for making power

Paul, there was a brand new pair on ebay last week, but they were £500, and for a 911

What about k16?..It isn't a direct swap for k14?

they wouldn't be exactly the ones we're looking for though would they, as there are differences for petrol and diesel?
still from the looks of the info in the link theres plenty of stuff that they came on, I hope to be able to find one fairly easily

well I thought the k24 was a direct swap too, but I assume the k16 is inbetween the k14 and k24 in terms of size so that could be a nice compromise between spool up and max boost?
anyone have any more info?
anyone run a k16?

K16 can take up to 1.5 bar of max boost....I know that Calibra came with K16...And that's all I know...

ah interesting, 1.5 isn't all that much more than a k14, so I think I'll certainly be going for a k24 to make the swap worth while, whats the max boost people are running with a k24?
could you make up a hybrid with a k14 or 16 exhaust and a k24 compressor?
would it be worthwhile doing? quicker spool up but with same max boost as k24?

If you can find one, an '81 or '82 Porsche 924 used these smaller turbos. The exhaust flange is three bolt, but the center section itself should all be the same. Daniel

i'm pretty sure the gas compressor wheel is different than a diesel compressor wheel, only thing that is the same is the K24 housing. I could be wrong though...

Audi UrS2/S4/S6, etc... came with K24's...
Or if you wanted to be a baller... the older Audi 5000 Turbos (in europe I guess it would be the Audi 200 Turbo) like 86-90 2.2L inline 5 cyl. came with K26's
