• i have 4 mk1s 2 1.5's and 2 1.6's and all of the heads have worn out lifter bores. does anyone know if this is a common problem and if so what is a good solution. i have heard of using an oil baffle and putting a higher volume oil pump. i just suspect it is a lack of oil but am unsure

• my bet would be that they ran with the lifters way out of adjustment for too long.. and then all that excess clearance wallowed out the bores..

• or they were overheated, warping the head, which can tear up the cam bore pretty quick...

• so this is not a problem if i take care of my engine and do the necessary adjustments? what are all of the adjustments necessary on the head?
