Does anyone have an clutch alignment tool for a 1.6 TD?
Thanks
I don't, but I put a screwdriver in between the flywheel and clutch disc all the way around. My little bladed flat screwdriver had the perfect spacing, then I tightened the PP bolts. When I put the trans onto the engine I wiggled it and it fell on in less than 5 seconds.
Might try that if someone doesn't have one for you.
I just eye it up and put it as close as possible. In my opinion it isn't critical to get it exactly centered. The input shaft will force the clutch to where it needs to go although sometimes you will need to rotate the shaft by via the CV flanges to get it to slide in.
I have one but I still have yet to use it.
any clutch alignment tool for our style of clutch will work, except aba/aaz alignment tools. they have the bigger input shaft.
any gasser tool will work.. plastic disk with a peg sticking out of the middle, just make one or improvise. ive eyeballed more vw clutches than ive used the tool on. like tyler said, it doesnt have to be perfect.
