i have a pair of vise grips pintching on the tube that goes to the wastegate, in past doing this the turbo makes alot of boost.....
but its weird i can feel it kicking in, not a ton but my gauge only reads 10 psi when i unclamp it only reads 5 or so,,,,,,,sounds like you have to rev her pretty high to achieve this though......
any thoughts?
Try disconnecting the downpipe and see what happens.
Are you saying your boost gauge only goes to 10psi or that's the highest reading you are seeing on it?
gauge goes to 30psi but im only seeing 10-12 tops......you say disconnect dp, thats kinda a pain in the ass isnt it.......
well got looking as i drove 200ks today and on highway i think in theory it should be making some boost am i correct?
i think maybe from my previous 1.9AAZ i make about 5-6PSI runing about 110-115 km/h (it was equiped with a K24)
so i am assuming the same for my new 1.6TD, anyways long story short when driving my gauge was reading zero,,,,,,,,,then when car at idle stopped it droped to lower postion maybe 4PSI if i had to guess below the zero so really at full boost it is running 14-15PSI
the wastegate it pretty well clamped closed but i dont think i have the fuel delivery to get my boost higher (didnt touch fuel screw stil stock)
make sence???
i hammer a wedge into my clamps. if ur downpipe has enough movement you can just bend it from side to side to make them fit
