Hello all. Question; what is the difference between a dual-fan setup for a 1995 Jetta (A3) and one for an A2 Jetta, electrically? Does the dual fan draw more amps? Would it fit an A2 without burning out the system? Thanks.
Well, I have found a couple of things different. The dual fan and shroud I picked up for $15 is out of a 2.0L '95 Jetta. I want to put it into a 1989 Jetta, diesel. The shroud from the 2.0 L'95 is much bigger than the radiator in the diesel, so I will need to shift the fans over to a dual shroud I have on hand from a wrecker. I will need to shim out the fans from the shroud, as the '95 drive fan sticks out towards the radiator more than a normal fan would, but that is not a big problem.
$15. Woof. A steal compared to a new dual set.
2.0 shrouds are taller, and alot wider. they draw no more power, they still only have one motor driving them. passat 16v shrouds are direct bolt on for an mk2.
