I have a 1.6N/A. I am interested in changing the exhaust manifold. I have seen a bunch of 16v manifolds and downpipes for sale. Would this be an upgrade from the 4 into 1 that is stock on my motor? Would it be a direct fit? Who here has done anything like this? It seems that the 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust manifolds would flow better.
Do you have the toilet bowl now?
I have a couple of manifolds and dual downpipes if you're looking for one.
get the toliet bowl and a 2.25 techtonics exhuast
You can add a 1Y intake also

16v manifolds wont work obviously, but the downpipe is a good upgrade if you can find the manifold for an 8v, then go for it.
In the same boat with a 1.6 NA (recent Giles pump install) thinking of changing to the 8v manifold and dual downpipe... then running 2.25 after that... what is a good muffler choice for the N/A? Is it recommended to run a resonator as well, or just straight to the muffler.
Corrado G60 dual exhaust manifold with 30 inch double section, and magnaflow muffler. The best single power upgrade I've gotten out of a piece of steel. The second best upgrade was tearing out the small flat filter and putting in a ducted cone air filter (I haven't modded the IP at all yet).
I think the Corrado casting is an 8v, also called a 6 bolt manifold. I don't know how easily it would bolt into your application. Mine is loud, but I love the performance difference. It used to accelerate like a sailboat in a slight breeze, now it really kicks. 'Course I got my timing right about the same time as I installed the pipes, but you know.
the way you set up your exhaust is all about personal taste. lots of people think fart cans sound amazing, i think they sound like dog $#!t. ive also met many people that hate the sound of flowmasters, but i think nothing sounds better than a flowie. magna flows are also good mufflers, they just burn out faster than a flowie. borlas are good also, so is just about any muffler, its all about personal taste.
