Okay you Europeans-Tyler and I both need a 1y style intake manifold . I need one with the inlet at the #1 end and he needs one that opens toward #4. Someone who has converted their 1Y to a AAZ style motor must have one lying around . PLEASE !!!

Yo T
I've been posting inquiries on every UK scrap yards i can find online for both of us [one r/s inlet, one l/s]. Still waiting, but why are they so hard to find. . GEE_BEE i'd still bite, but the problem is that i will probably have to slice some of the top off to fit in my Vanagon, so buying such a nice one and butchering it would be a shame. My present boss is off to Switzerland in a couple of weeks and if i haven't found any by then i will try to convince him to find me a couple- but it will be like pulling teeth.

So its like a 8v gasser intake but with Dports for the 1.9. Oh and a silly probably EGR crap on it.

"Looks like a 16v gasser to me"
Yes it does, and i've thought of using one, but they are way deeper and in my case there would have to be major slicing and rewelding to fit in my vanagon. As far as what i've seen in pics from others in the UK etc have , using a 1Y or 1x manifold would require much smaller amount of fiddling to make it fit.

Buy it !
draw your dimension's on it, cut with a nice band saw, weld a nice bead, sand it smooth, send off for powder coat and your done...

Despite the time i waste online, time is not something i have enough of . spending an afternoon fitting, measuring ,cutting, more measuring, welding, cutting again because i didn't measure quite right, etc etc is not what i call fun or have real time for. i am much more of a buy it, bolt of on type of person, plus i like stuff to be as close to factory -in appearance at least.

The PD mani is better for more power than the 1y is correct? Reason I'm asking is I am looking for a D-Port mani for my build still

Never thought about it, would have to have a look to see. But this is for a non turbo application. That's one reason i'm looking for the exact manifold that would have come this style motor. It came from a genset and had a AAZ style intake on it. I now have a welded up CX manifold and need to get something better.

They did come without the EGR crap on them. Sadly I was not so lucky with mine.
Last time I was browsing ebay.de I saw 3 of them I think? Shipping killed that buzz though.
