I just finished resealing my IP. I put the 2 stack springs and lever back on but don't know for sure if it is correct. Does anyone here have a close up pic of the bottom spring under tension. I know the there is a hook on the bottom spring that attaches itself with a rectangular post, but there is another post, it is circular, I don't know if the metal piece on top of the bottom spring stays outside of the circular post or if it is between the rectangular post and circular post? Please help, I don't know if the throttle is on correctly, it seemed too easy to put back on, I wonder if I need to spin the spring one more time to add more tension?
My pump is the stock one on a 1984 vw rabbit.
The lever is on top of the two springs on mine.
Also, I have seen IP's with stack springs and it looks different from mine, I don't know if the PO put it back together correctly.
Thanks

You can just see the lower tip of my spring pointing at the end of the full throttle stop screw
That IP looks different than mine, linkage and all.
I will take a pic of my assembled IP linkage and spring, hopefully someone can chime in and tell me that it is correct!
Fingers crossed!?!
Thank You!
mine comes with so much crap on top of it, you can hardly see the lever...
but i can say for sure the direction of pull is right.
Yours is hooked up properly however it is the wrong bottom plastic piece I think. I don't know if it's important or not. Also, that isn't the proper throttle setup for an 84, not that it matters. Most likely the pump was swapped.
That's the taller stack from a NA A2 Jetta-ish looks like. Think it's a 109 number on the pump.
The actual early rabbit one is shorter and less spring-filled.
I just checked the pump, here is the #068-130-109
If it is from an A2, and not from an A1, does that mean the I have the wrong pump?
I don't know about the pump pressures between an A1 and A2 1.6NA pump, but I do know that for an A1 1.6NA, the injector is NA13x and for some years A2 1.6NA, the injector is NA14x. I have read that the pop pressure between the two are different, I wonder if the pumps are a little different inside? As in the timing curve/pressure curve?
Just don't know why the PO got rid of the stock pump?
Don't know if the fuel set screw is set up correctly now?
Thanks
If it runs I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know much about the changes but they likely are minor and emissions related. All VW NA injectors are 130 BAR AFAIK

I just posted a thread about the injector differences, Bosch thinks they differ, and my seat-of-pants test rig
says they differ. Go figure.
Well, I did some research.
According to this website,
http://www.mwfi.com/dieselPage/VW_Diesel_Parts.htmThe part# I have of 068-130-109 is year 1984 only, I am wondering if my pump is a later part of 1984 build?
I don't know, my car wasn't running well to begin with, the IP was leaking bad, and the engine is burning oil.
Thanks
