I am going to reseal my pump and reinstall it. When taking out the pump, I inserted the IP pin to lock the timing with piston #1 at TDC and the flywheel mark lined up with the sight hole. But here is my problem, the timing belt was out of timing by a couple of teeth, and I don't have any prior history of the car. I don't know if the IP was installed 180 degrees off because there are two holes where the IP lock pin can go into. Even though piston #1 is at TDC and the flywheel mark is seen through the transmission hole, the IP can still be 180 degrees off.
When I reinstall it, does the hole with the woodruff key face towards the IP lock pin or 180 degrees opposite of the IP lock pin?

Stated a different way... the key should be at about 11:00 o'clock.
OK, then the woodruff key is further away from the lock pin hole rather than closer to it?
If that is correct, then I will install the IP the same way.

that happened to me. the keyway faces towards the valve cover, not where the pin is.
The sprocket on my IP (1981 1.6 N/A) has a little marker on it that looks like an arrowhead. There is a similar mark on the IP and the IP mounting bracket. All three marks roughly line up at cylinder 1 TDC (with the sprocket pointer on top). Look closely at the pump side of the IP sprocket and you should find the marker.
