Pardon the noobism (again). I can't find this anywhere in the Bentley or the Haynes. And don't really know how to search for it. I can post a picture if my description isn't adequate.
It's about a 1/4" inch line coming out of a hole in the inner passenger fender into the engine bay. On my car it is just hanging loose and some PO has stuffed a bolt into the end.
I checked my friends 78' rabbit and on his car it runs into the passenger side frame rail but we cant trace it further than that.
Where does it go!?!?!?
Probably a vacuum line from the a/c vent servos.
The line going to the Pass. frame rail is a vent for the fuel tank. Black plastic hose right?
What kind of vehicle are working on? Diesel, gas, MK1, MK2 or what. That will help us to help you.
It probly is a gas car and it goes to the Charcoal canister ( emissions stuff )
Fuel tank to canister, than returns back...

This sounds good. It is a 79' diesel rabbit. Yes, plastic hose. It goes in the inner fender well just before the strut tower and then comes out just behind it. connects to a hard line that follows the path of the fuel supply/return line. Provided this is the vent for the fuel tank, should there be anything on the end of it? or should i just push it back into the frame rail with the end open?
My rabbit has that same hose going into the frame rail and the end isn't plugged.
Probly a canister on the Lh front fender underneth where the antenna is..
