last time i had the head off my rabbit, two pistons were pitted like this...
I didn't have the time or money to replace them, so i just put it together "as is"...
I'm wondering if you guys know what typically causes pitting like this? I'm going to be tearing down my engine again here in a few weeks, and Im trying to gauge the importance of replacing the pistons...

what do you guys think?
bad nozzle spray.
a worn or clogged nozzle will not spray properly, causing heavy carbon deposits and piston erosion.

that kinda what i was leaning towards..
so, given that, if i replaced the nozzles, am I ok to run those pistons? ive scene people run pistons with huge valve divots in them and be ok...
I am planning on turbocharging this motor after this next tear down...
you should be fine as long as the erosion does not go to the rings
