Just wondering if anyone has tried it or knows if it's possible
If you have the talent and the tools, almost anything will work. How big is the IC? Where do you plan to mount it? If you don't use it....how much for it?
The G60 intercooler (horizontally placed) is a direct fit. The G60 and the euro spec GTD intercoolers are the same, however, you'll have to relocate the power steering reservoir and change the cooling reservoir (if you don't have the round style one). When I installed that intercooler (from a GTD) I had everything from the donor car: intercooler, piping and brackets, but I decided to make myself the rear bracket to leave my old (and bigger) cooling fluid reservoir.
If it's the IC from a Rallye (front, vertically placed) it can be installed easily as well.
In any case, you'll need custom hoses if you don't have the GTD ones.
Don't the g60 ic's have plastic end tanks? I'm not sure what kind of boost the g-grenades were putting out in stock form but if you plan on running big boost I personally would want an all alloy design.
I'm just seeing them for reasonable prices on the vortex and was wondering if they would work for our applications

Stock G's were blowing 0.65 bar (9.4 psi). With the 68 pulley, they went over 1.10 bar (16.5 psi), the original IC could hold it well.
If Mtnbob wishes to run stock or around-stock boost, it's a good approach. However, if he wants bigger boost, then...

The G60 Intercooler I think this poster is talking about are the Mk2 g60 with a/c ICs and the Mk2 Diesel ICs being the same. These were the cool under the hood ICs and are nothing like a G60 corrado Intercooler. I'd suggest you get an intercooler from a Mk4 or B5 1.8T or maybe an old saab intercooler. as the plumbing will be easier.
Nope, I was talking about the intercoolers from the supercharged Corrado
Thanks though
