They are both good engines but with pretty different characteristics. What are your goals for the car?

well either way they are better than petrol in costs/mpg so mpg isnt an issue
but yeh i`m after top end speed and set off speed
my mk2 1.6gtd tuned is quick but not quick enough

TBH im not too well clued up on injector swapping, but ive been lead to believe that for mild tuning the AAZ (mk3) injectors are good to go

you will love the torque of the 1.9. the only thing i would recommend is a taller transmission as the 1.9 doesn't like to rev like the 1.6.

Or put the 1.9 head on the GTD. If you go with the AAZ in the mk2, use the GTD pump and take the camplate out of the AAZ pump and put it in the 1.6 pump. The 1.6 pump has more adjustability than the AAZ pump. Don't bother messing with the nozzles, the GTD pump with the 1.9 camplate will put out more than enough fuel.

i use a freinds tinterweb so i dont have any pics
ive got loads on my phone lol
well i got my mk3 (aaz) yesterday and she drives quite nice i`m suprised but i am still going to drop the aaz into my mk2 and shuv the gtd into my mk3 and use it for a while until i get everything sorted on the mk2 ... aaz requires a clutch desperatly and i aint sure if the 1.6 clutch will fit the 1.9

1.9 head on the GTD gets my vote!!!
