Would the motor burn oil if the IP timing was retarded a bit,
Symptoms
Slight bluish smoke on high revs if previously babying the throttle
oily blowby (even with new built motor)
Ive redone timing on this toyota diesel and it reduced oil burning to nearly nothing and white smoke from the oil cap is reduced. Can the IP timing affect oil burning??
It should not affect it. Is this an N/A ? If so, excessive blow-by can carry quite a bit of oil mist into the intake causing what you describe. When you look into the oil fill cap, do you see the cam? If so, you could use the updated baffle to reduce this misting into the intake.
If that's not the case, you probably have an engine that was not properly loved = lack of oil changes resulting in worn-out rings :-(
Hope this helps.
