Hey guys!
My mark3 AAZ turbo leaks oil and I've got the reuild kit. I would really appreciate if some one can guide me on rebuilding this turbo. Some one who has done it before?
Thanks.

To both of you:
get the turbo balanced after you rebuild it.
and make sure to mark the wheels facing up, so you can have them in the same position when you put it back together.
so how big of a process is this, is it something an experienced guy can do in an hour?
what kind of money do shops charge to do this
Mark the wheel carefully to the shaft with a scratch, it's not perfect, but can be done
Depending on how easy it comes apart you are looking at an afternoon to a full weekend.

I think a sharpie would be better, seems like a scratch wouldn't be good for it.

I never understood why they need rebalanced either if you use a Sharpie like you said. The hot side wheel is part of the shaft itself and can be marked at the tip of a blade and a mark on the housing on that side. Then keeping those marks in the same place mark the compressor wheel and housing at the same time the same way. As long as you don't loose your marks from cleaning or something I don't see how this wouldn't work and would be more acurate marking at a blade tip instead of way down on that little shaft, or am I missing something. I have read that some types don't even require rebalacing at all.
Thanks guys for the tips..
Does any one have a full rebuild guide?
