I have a 2000 AHL engine may put into a caddy in the future. Looks alot different compared to a 1Z! Will it work with a AAZ pump? It came from a Jetta that had a underhood fire.
I'm not a M-TDI head but I don't think it'll work for two reasons. First the "hub" size where the pump fits in the IP mount is smaller than an ALH pump. You could probably get an adapter ring machined though. The next problem is setting the timing. ALHs use an adjustable IP pulley, AAZs require moving the whole pump.
RabbitGTDguy for example used a cummins 4B pump and use a ALH adjustable pulley. So maybe using a cummins pump as a base is the way to go.
ive done exactly that, im running a disco pump (same hub width as an AAZ) on a BKD that is built to be like an ALH, i took the pully to my local machine shop and he made the ALH pully fit, it cost £20
AAZ pump will work but wont be all that good, i dont think they have as much advance as a TDI pump
Rich,
Sorry but I don't know what a "disco" pump is or a BKD. Could you explain?
Thanks
