guys,
i have a fiat ducato '99, its a citroen 1.9td intercooled90hp engine with less than 2k on it.
when i make a cold start it makes white smoke with a little bit blue.
i controlled the glow plugs and needed to change two, but its still smoking.
sometimes when its real cold it even smokes a little bit harder, when its warmer outside its like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JggeHWgGiyE&feature=channel_pagei think the problem is the valve seals, but i hope its something else, some guys claim i got air in my pump or so. any comment from you guys?

that looks like a diesel starting in cold weather, i assume it does not do that when it warms up, if that white smoke goes away when the engine is warm, you have nothing to worry about, you should see my rabbit when it starts below 20 degrees, and anything below that it has to be pluged in, glow plugs or not.

well, it was even nog freezing in this video, if its about 0°C than it smokes a little bit more, on warmer days it just smokes a little bit.
i changed the glow plugs but nothing seems to help.

It smoked for like 10 seconds. You don't have a problem, you have a diesel

The smoke went away with the revving, that means you increased the cylinder temperatures, and reduced the smoke

I wouldn't worry, it started very nicely which means its allll good.
