  These are good quality parts (continental TB w/ tensioner, Mahle bearings, and Victor Reinz metal 2 notch HG).

  I dunno about thrust bearings. I dont even know where the thrust bearing is or what it does.

• When you step on the clutch,..
   It shoves the crank into the thrust bearing.
  
   I learned from this forum to always take it out of gear and have my foot off the clutch when I start the car,.. so I'm not shoving the crank into the thrust bearing without any oil lubing things up.

  So in order to change said bearing i'd have to take the crank out of the block...

  Aie, i always start her up in neutral with my foot off the clutch.
  I do that will all cars that allow it. just force of habit
