Does anybody know if I can use a "non-a/c" blower motor in my a/c equipt 79 Rabbit?
...blower motor is bad and I need a replacement and all I can find are "non-a/c".
Thanks in advance!

uhhhhh
If by blower motor you mean a TD...
...nd by ac you mean it came from the factory with an ac bolted on there...
it makes absolutely no difference to the engine except for some electronics if it has AC. If you're removing the AC all that happens is you gain power and mileage.
what are you asking? I'm not sure i fully understand.
an engine with air conditioning means absolutely nothing. It's like saying "will an engine from a car without a radio work in a car that has a radio"

Short answer: No. There is another thread on here somewhere about this same question that has pictures and explains the difference.

It's nearly always the same fault. Dry bearings lead to the speed control resistances overheating and blowing the thermal fuse. Cost of repair is usually a 70 pence (a dollar?) thermal fuse, a strategic 3mm hole drilled to give access to the hidden bearing, a few drops of gearbox oil and a couple of hours in on a winter evening. Unless it siezed solid on full speed and burnt the armature to death.

Yep, just to clarify, it's the blower fan/motor for the "climate system". My car has factory A/C, which is slowly being removed. The fan does not repond when it is power up, fuses are good, has power and ground at connectors. I can spin the cage by hand, but it has quite a bit of resistance. I will be doing the radiator soon, so I will pull the blower out then and tear it down to see if it is repairable.
Maybe someone has a non-a/c climate box assembly that I could swap in?
Thanks for the input fellas.

I looked up my car on that site and it just comes up with non- a/c blower motors which are the same part nuber as the ones for your car. The only difference I can make out between the a/c blowers from the pic (assuming that is the actual pic) is the wiring harness. Matbe the motor it self is the same and I can just replace those pars........I wish there was a way to find out for sure. I'm going to do some more research. I will keep you in mind.
thanks!
