hi
what is best to upgrade and reliability:
1.6tb with i.c. or 1.6 without i.c.?
i know that the ones without i.c. have larger turbos but i think the 80hp intercooled has other thing like larger injectors and others...
so , whats best? :?:
With IC is better, the compressed air from the turbo is cooled down so the engine stays cooler, less themal energy need to be disappated

a side-effect is that your enige will have more hp/tq

A JX van be fitted with a IC too if you can't find a RA/SB.
I don't know the exact difference between the JR 70hp (JX in the USA AFAIK) and the RA/SB 80hp engines is besides it has a watercooled turbo, IC and different partnumbers for the dieselpump.
Does anyone know what the exact differences are in je dieselpump/injectors/nozzles?
Small Q of my own about the 1.6TDs:
I have a JR in my shed which will be transplanted into my caddy.. but a friend owns a salvageyard where a RA/SB 80hp engine sits in a golf/rabbit with wornout bearings.. would it be worth swapping the injectors/nozzles and pump onto my JR?
they probably just increased the fueling on the pump
i will look for a stock i.c. model and when the turbo blows i will search for one bigger(the turbo from the 70hp model)
can you tell me the brand of the turbo in the 70 and 80hp and the pressure they blw(stock and maximum) :?:
The stock 70Hps are Garett T3 and KKK K24.. the 80hps are watercooled KKK K14s.
The 1.6TDs are a lot bigger and produce more flow/pressure but the K14 spools a lot faster..
how much boost can i push from a kkk14?and kkk24?
will the fuel pump handle with the extra boost?
