The altenator is fine because its keeping my battery charged...its if i let the car sit with the battery hooked up it drains out...and about the harness, I used the full wiring harness and cluster from the TD including the fuse panel...
Do you have a multimeter? I would unhook the the positive cable and put a DC ammeter in line. DO NOT start the car like this. Then once the ammeter is installed you should see some kind of current flow if you do indeed have a drain on the system.
At this point, if you have a drain, start pulling fuses one at a time. When you find the fuse that stops the drain you know where to start looking.
This may be way off but...the car has a cracked tail light and i siliconed it...i knonw its been messing with the signal lights only on 1 side of my car...teh rear lights cracked yet teh front light won't blink... the car was sitting outside and some water leaked in...maybe just maybe that could be where its shorting out?
