all was running fine up until i cleaned my air filter ( cone type k&n ) and i decided to remove water from what i believe to be the separator ( canister on passenger side ) i unscrewed the screw/plug at bottom to drain out water and unscrewed it too far thus spilling diesel then fumbling around to finally put it back in place. Then started car really rough idle and then no go at all
question, did i fill the lines with air? if so how do i bleed fuel lines?

Yup, loosening the cap completely probably caused a bunch of air to get into the system.. causing the engine to starve (the running rough) followed by sucking air completely (the no start).
The system is essentially self-priming but depending on how much air there is and how old the injection pump is you may need to crank for quite a while which can be hard on the starter/battery.
The preferred solution is to fill the entire system end-to-end by applying suction to the OUT side of the pump (brake bleeder vacuum pump works great) until no more bubbles appear.
You can also try filling the filter with fresh fuel... the hope is that the engine with catch and run rough enough to finish removing the air.
Air in the system sucks..
I have a small pusher pump to aid in these situations.
Even with that last time I cracked my system open it took a long damn time to get the air all out.
finally got it running :lol:
on top of the fact it sucked in air in the first place i discovered it was also leaking air into the in line ( rubber line crackes and old )
