Where to buy the 1st oversize...

So, the b3 mTDi swap is about to begin and since I'm tight on funds at the moment, I thought I'd at least start things off by tearing the rest of the shortblock down.
So...in so doing, I found quite a bit of bronzing on the crankshaft and some undesireables as far as the rod bearings were concerned, etc. I think with the known mileage that is on this motor that I'm starting with...that I want to go to the 1st OVERSIZE on just about everything in the lower end...just to have that much more of a fresh motor in the end.
Trouble is...I'm having trouble shopping for the parts that I need. Anyone have a source for the 1st oversize of the main bearings (without the crappo integrated number 3 two piece shell), rod bearings, and rings?
I've checked GAP, autohausaz.com and tdiparts.com without much like. I think the only thing I found was the Mains in oversize with the crappo integrated number 3 shell.

Thanks...i'm more interested in the lower end bearings, etc.
My pistons are in great shape and I'd rather stick with the good german units. Thanks for the inquiry though...
I overspoke when I was thinking oversize... I really want to pay attention to the rod bearings and mains...not so worried about the pistons as I think the bores will be find with the standards...
The ridge at the top is quite nice though!
Anyone have a source for the 1st oversize main and rod bearings? they are the biggest thing I'm worried about...

not to hijack your thread, but why is the integrated thrust rings on #3 bearing a bad thing?

The intergrated thrust bearings are known to eat through good rebuilds. By eating through I mean...eating into the sides of the main bearing carriers themselves.
All motor rebuilds I've ever done, I've only use the 6 pc bearings...never had a problem with them. Lots of horror stories out there about the intergrated thrust bearing...

wow I never heard that problem before. Guess I need to do some reading.
I've used two sets of those bearings. I should pull my pan and check to see if there's any damage being done. If its such a big problem, I wonder why the good bearing makers like Mahle and Kolbenschmidt make these bearings if they are detrimental to the block? Seems odd.

myke...I PM'd ya. I didn't see oversize listed for TDI on your site...but I'm sure that isn't everything you can get I imagine. The prices are to my liking!

Joe I PM'ed you back on this..
The mains and rods are available in .5mm OS
I'm updating the site as we speak..

I also have a new line on 1.9 TD pistons in .5mm Goetze brand.. I can get almost anything you need, it would take months to put all my lines on my site..
If you need somthing just ask, in the meantime I'll try to keep the site up to date with the most sought after parts...
