Well, while i'm waiting to get the car back from the shop i'm gathering up parts here at the house. I'm planning on doing a rear disc swap from a mk2 gti i found at my local junkyard. I figure while i'm doing that swap i can replace the springs. But, as i search for parts online, there are different part numbers for different mk2 golfs? I thought they all used basically the same springs?
I'm looking to lower the car maybe 1.5"- 1.8". Do i need to mix and match springs, or will any mk2 lowering springs work? Thanks in advance!
There are basically 2 types of OEM springs for mk2 golf:
191 511 115 A is the standard spring (used on all GL, CL, GTD and GTI models) .
191 511 115 E and 191 511 115 F are the references for the 16v and G60 models (2 and 4 doors).
So, yes, any mk2 lowering spring will do the job.
