how would an 80% kit affect daily driveability? would i be better off getting a 40% kit ?
also, do those kits wear out after a while?
and lastly, the reason for them is to give some pre-load to the slipping (or spinning) tire so that torque can be transfered to the other (hopefully not slipping/spinning ) tire?
thanks!
I still need to get my tranny code, but for sure it is a 6 speed from a PD130. I might buy one of those 80% kits depending on whether or not it is street friendly

The %80 kits only work on the 020 trannys, not the 02J or 02M's.

So i was on the other vw site and found a guy that will sell Peloquins for $760 shipped. I asked him about the possibility of getting together a group buy and what he could do for us pricewise.... he responded by telling me that after checking with his retailer, Peloquin does NOT offer any kind of "group buy" discount.
But $760 shipped anywhere in the US is a pretty fair price, is it not?
Anyone else check with their suppliers about a price?
I see a lot of "would love to's" and "great's" but have yet to see an actual starting price or goal price in mind....
Would the organizer of this thread, or anyone in the know, PLEASE get us some price numbers to work with???Thanks...

That's me. Let's face it, there's not going to be an amazing price drop on these, regardless of numbers. I can't see anything less than $700 shipped, if we're extremely lucky.
I wanted some numbers before approaching a dealer. Bleached Bora has stated that he is a dealer. I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to offer. Naturally, we'll compare to what other distributors can to, but it'd be nice to deal with someone from this site.
I'm ordering an extra 80% kit for a different project, not related to my 02C.

This Just In: There’s limited numbers, but I can get you 1 or 2, and shipping cost goes by weight, so there’s no savings.
Peloquin doesn’t like his dealers doing group buys, which is why my price is the group buy rate.
$769 to a US address, and $875 including Express mail to almost anywhere in the world. Thanks for the interest…

I had an 80% kit on my 01M

It worked great, not as good as the real deal but it was a massive improvement in the wet and snow.

well, according to tripn4days, the gig is up. According to Peter at the scirocco.com group buys don't happen on these things, and his prices are best.
Bleached Bora?

I'll buy a 40% kit, so long as I'm not paying more than retail plus shipping.

DOC,
Might have a good connection for you on the Peloquins. Drop me a pm. Has Scott ever called you back?
