Out of an '81 Volvo TD- 6 nice injectors, cam pulley, 5k redline tach, alt.
plus manifolds and frozen T3 I can't use ($20 for all). Should I try to pull the prechamber cups before I recycle the head? also, I'm assuming that the valves etc. are worth saving too?
I'd love to save the IP, but didn't have time to get it out tonight and it gets hauled and squished tomorrow.

Its a 240 Turbo diesel? Must have been swapped in out of a 740 at some point. Not worth a lot, but someone could use th einjector lines at some point I'm sure. Heck, the IP comes out with only a few bolts once you have the injector lines off, it couldn't take more than 30 minutes.

It's a 7 series, just guessing the year (scrap yard car) Yeah, I'm going to get that pump this morning- I should be able to use it as a core (except for the 6 cyl cam plate etc.). Do you know if the valves and pre-cups are the same as the 1.6 turbo vw?

The 7 series became available in the US in 1983.
If the alternator has the W terminal (and it oughta), I'd like that very much.

If the head isn't totally hooped it is worth something to someone as they are quite hard to find. Many a volvo diesel has been scrapped due to a warped or badly cracked head, mucho dinero to replace new. The motors themselves are usually totally worn out with a million zillion miles on them. Real hoky design with the cam driving the ps pump off the back and such. Good luck Dan

Um, no. The back of the cam drives the injector pump, not the p/s pump!
