Need the water separator that bolts up to the body just in front of the passenger rear wheel for my 91 Eco Diesel.
One of the POs removed it and left only the two pronged sensor dangling. Need it complere and with the nuts that hold it to the body if I can get them.
Thanks,
You should leave it the way the PO has it. Maybe trim those leads back a bit or something.
Yeah?? Water separator worthless is it ??
Just get a filter with one?
All the filters in the engine bay have one. You can't get one without it that I'm aware of.
Only mk2s had that water separator if that tells you anything
I'll back up Tyler here not that he needs it.
The newer fuel filters have water separators built in so your good.
The ones mounted back by the tank are famous for leaking anyway.
I've never found any water in that thing.
Awesome, Thanks.
I guess I'll just unplug the sensor and take it out then since I am buttoning up the fuel tank swap anyway.
I suppose while I have the interior and wiring out, I could run a wire from where it connects above the fuel tank back up to the front and add a sensor for the filter in the engine compartment, that way the GP light won't feel left out ;P
I just finished removing my water separator. It leaked air, but not diesel. The one in my parts car leaked diesel when I installed it.
I just clipped the sensor off (leaving enough wire on either side that I could splice it back together if I ever decided to reinstall). Then I sealed up the clipped end with liquid electrical tape. This setup has no ill effects on the glow plug light.
Then I put in a section of fuel line from the hard line of the tank to the flow regulator on the other side.
