That's not good at all. For $250 it might be worth it to take a trip... I have grandparents literally 10 minutes away from where he lives.
I think there is a thread on vortex that has buyer/seller info. Maybe post something there about this.
Sorry it isn't working out

I sent him money and he sent me a false tracking #. He never did send me the part. I have yet to get my money back after a month.
Avoid dealing with this person.

lol i'm sure he reads this forum... he'll probably be ready for 1) brake fluid on paint 2) nails in driveway...
probably go nuts from the paranoia! hopefully there is just some sort of mixup... i just don't understand why anyone would want to defraud another person for chump change.
pretty sad... hopefully there's just a mixup!

I spilled a box of aluminum roofing nails in my driveway once. Those little buggers are non-magnetic and so fairly difficult to clean up entirely on a dirt driveway. I kept getting poked tires...

HEE HEE HEE, Snicker Snicker  Thats old school. By the way, brake fluid will work just fine for a short period loaded into a squirt gun or spay bottle. Makes a funny pattern when it hits too.

When I lived in Portland, somebody was hitting parked cars with paint stripper in ballons.
Sorry about the rip-off!
I had a similar experience with a seller in Jersey--guy was using his Grandmothers mailing address. 3 other victims and I contacted the local police who opend a complaint file--shook the guy up pretty good.
Still didn't get our money back, though.

I think you should contact police, you have more than enough complaints to get the police suspicious.

Perhaps we should do kind of a informal inhouse rule thing about making sure buyers / sellers go through some kind of dispute abc 123 process before names get posted as to who is or is not reputable. Basics like, did you e-mail him, did you request tracking#, Did you request copy of shipping bill or receipt.? Just a thought.
No one likes getting ripped off for sure, it's just hard to call a " my bad" after you light off the flame on someones rep.
If someone IS a scammer, Please send out the watch/ warning/ black list and let us know so no one else get's screwed. Flame on.
(and watch for roofing nails and spilled brake fluid)
