Thanks alot, i am about to solder it when it stops raining
The thing about soldering on anything that viborates is you must strain relief the wire after the connection or the wire will crack at the edge of the solder joint. That is why on cars nearly all wires are crimped - the crimp is the strain relief. Yes, solder is a better connection electrically, but imobilze the wire right after the solder if you want it to last.
anyone know about this??? cheers
Yeah, a little bit  what revcounter are you running? Have you looked at my revcounter thread in the FAQ section?
Hello and thanks for your reply. I haven't looked at the FAQ but i will now. I'm using vw jetta turbo diesel clocks. Any ideas why it's not working or what i can check for.
hi all i fitted vw taco into my mk2 but they're not working. If i have a w-terminal on my alternator, how do i connect this to my taco to get it working?
?
You need a connection between altenator w terminal and revcounter for it to work.
Whatever your mk2 is, if it was a gasser, find the revcounter signal wire that was original connected to dizzy/ignition coil and run it down to the alt w term - that should sort it.
Hello. The rev counter is from a td jetta and my car is a gtd golf so all diesel. So i need to connect the w terminal wire to the clocks is that right?? I know where the w terminal is but where do i connect it to the clocks?? Do i need to splice it into the plug that goes to the clocks?? If so which wire is it?? Cheers for the help..shane

The wire is already there Shane.
Should be part of the Alt harness from the engine all the way to the cluster.
Sound, I'll go hunting for it tonight :-) I'll keep posted
Hi all. Just an update. The wire was actually not there at all. i brought a wire from the W-Terminal (green wire) to plug G1 pin 12 in the fuse box and Voila. Thanks for all the help gents..Shane
