Title: WTB Crank Sprocket, Timing Belt and tensioner
Post by: mtnbob on July 30, 2012, 04:56:48 pm
Can't get the crank bolt out of my old engine, so I need a new crank sprocket. I also need a timing belt and tensioner if anyone has some laying around. getting my car back on the road is at a standstill until I get these parts :(

I have a brand new 1.6 sprocket I'll sell to you for $15 shipped.  I have a whole bunch of good condition used one's I'd sell for $10 shipped.  Need a new TTY bolt too?  Yes, of course you do.  Add $5 for it.

In many years of wrenching I have found that my mindset it my GREATEST TOOL to accomplishing the task at hand.  If I am worried or panicking, then I am entirely off my game, break things, screw things up, do it in the wrong order, etc.  Three hard steps forward that result in sliding back four.  If I start to get worried or panicked, I STOP doing what I'm doing.  The only thing that mindset will create is greater and greater emergencies.  It is literally better to do nothing or take an alternative approach.  Yes, there are ALWAYS alternatives.  If, on the other hand, I am focused primarily on the positive desired result of an easily accomplished task and a properly running vehicle, then I find myself enjoying the process and instinctually/subconsciously doing the things that assist me in arriving at that goal.  As always, your mileage may vary.

YES I totally agree! Your mindset impacts everything you do and its outcome. Anytime i tackle a new project i research it and research it then I just go and do it. If I get skeptical I stop take a break read my bently search the forums and then start the job again.

Thanks to both of you for your advice! I have been going at this at a reasonable pace, and I thought I had planned several weeks to finish the job, but it has been frustrating to break things I need for the rebuild. I guess I'm too heavy handed sometimes. I'm getting this done though and I have people like you guys to keep me on track!!!!
Thanks
 ;D
