like title states, i want rounds..
let me know what ya got..
-
I am not trying to rain on your parade and really do hope you find them. BUT I looked here, vortex, and everyother site I could think of and could not find any that were better than what the importers have. I had 80.00 shipping in one given to me that I had to cut and weld. If I had to do it over again it would have been cheaper to buy the one on this page...I don't like BFI, but they have them too.

I got the grill off ebay for 38.00.
-
i actually found a few grills on craigslist, believe it or not.. and relatively cheap also..
just never found the core support to match yet.
i will come up with something. if i have to buy new, so be it..

you need 85/86 golf one.. 200mm squares..... rounds played and stock well stock...

That'd look bomb kevo.
I'd love to do the single square rabbit setup on my 84 jetta :)
-
not mk1 jetta... LOL... mk2.. LOL... like your ol lady's jetta.. imagine with a pair of 200mm squares..
mk1 jetta = euro jetta for big squares.. else you loose the lower front panel built in squareness for crappy bunny roundness... even though ive wondered what it would be like to bond a early westy square set up with lower jetta squareness...
-
The 200mm sqaures. Yes like found on the Westmoreland rabbits, and early mk2 stuff eh?
I want these! On my 84 jetta! LOL.

I cut up a westy 200mm square to put my rounds in. I have always seemed to get more light out of a round. I like the looks of them too. I think everything available is better than the aero setup.
-
can't believe you can't find one over in ptown or up north. I'll keep my eyes out down here. Thought you were kidding before ;D And yes, mk2's look better with rounds i thinkey.

um... your joking right?
i would never even consider a westy front clip on my 92..
i dont even like the way they look on an early mk2 with small bumpers..
and i dont really like big bumpers, like small bumpers..
i want ROUND HEADLIGHTS. ive wanted them since i saw my first old rabbit..
nothing is going to change my mind. i want rounds, im getting rounds.
thanks for the suggestion, but i DONT like those lights. i like the fact that you can get nice aftermarket light housings for them, but so can you for the 7" round lights..
for me, theres only 2 options, aero, or round..
thanks for all your suggestions, but im going round.. most likely duals..

no.. rabbit parts are specific to mk1 cars.
i have a 92 jetta now. its a mk2. nothing mk1 fits besides the engine..
i need a grill for an 85-92 mk2 VW..
there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between mk1, and mk2 cars.. they may be shaped similarly, but there WAY DIFFERENT..
-

front seats, steering wheels, shifter knobs, window cranks, door handles, rear spindles drums and pads, front calipers, windshield wipers, light bulbs in the taillights..
haha, just kidding KEVO!
An mk2, wouldnt look to good westy your right, but an mk1 jetta does :) Oooh damn does it ever.

found grills brand new in portland for $40..
gonna buy all brand new stuff it seems..
-
Don't forget to get the correct rad support. I have everything you require however it is all kind of rough due to Ontario winters. Good luck with the new stuff.
Cheers
-
oh yea, i know the support is specific to the round lights. although, i could prolly make an Aero support work, ive heard of it done before..
and thats the reason im buying new.. cause i know that new stuff will be, well, new! lol..
a shoddy grill would really wreck the look of my car.. its a nice car, and it needs a nice grille.
-
Yeah, I was going to try convert a spare aero support to 7" rounds, but then my free 7" headlight buckets turned out to be rotten. I do like the look of rounds. I am currently working on an old Rabbit Convertible ('81) and that original design is soooo nice.
-
I just picked up a radiator support in a trade and was told that it was a mk2 round headlight support but I'm not so sure on that. I'll take some pictures of it sometime.
