Title: Mystery pump. What is this?

Odd thing is it has a lever on the forward facing, opposite of cold start lever, on the top cover that
seems to interact, even counter, the throttle action.  If that makes any sense.  Haven't seen one before, but
I haven't seen a lot of these.  It's tagged "core" but is surprisingly clean.  If I can ID it as something that will work on
a 1.6 I'll reseal it and see what it does, maybe I can swap the top plate to one without the extra lever?
I googled both these numbers and didn't come up with anything useful.

Found this, which still has not told me much, other than that 08/1995 date?

Looking at the odd and end bosch docs I have, could it be a manual shutoff lever?  Puzzling the pump is stamped VW/Audi though, or I'd think it was maybe from a generator app or such.

Note the lever where no lever generally is.

knowing the gov. assembly is in there maybe it was for and industrial application. Maybe it is some kind of max RPM lever or something. Definately looks different. Someone who knows the pumps better than I might know better.

If your going to remove the top cover and convert this IP to a standard  configuration, I would be interested in buying the removed parts from you.
I'm considering building a generator and those parts may be usefull.
PM me if interested
thanks,Mike

That's kinda what I was thinking, pump looks cleaner and lower mile-ish than the rest of my collection.  When I get around to pulling the top off I'll post a pick of the workings, but I'm almost sure it's a manual shutoff.

Well the Vortex diesel dudes ID it visually at least as from an auto trans vw D, makes since being that I've never even seen one in person.
Ordered a seal kit, will see what it does I guess.

That looks to be a fast idle arm to me.

I doubt that has anything to do with the shut off.

It is a shutoff lever. All pumps that came originally on automatic cars (at least all automatice MK Is) had this feature. FWIW, all first gen Dodge CTD motors have this feature too. Not especially rare or anything.

im just going by what ive seen.. and usually, that location is where the manual shut off is located..

least on every diesel/auto VW ive seen.

i could be wrong, it could be fast idle, but isnt there an adjustment right by the fast idle arm? like an adjustible stop for the arm? theres no stop on that pump..

again, my audi had almost the same lever, but just on the other side of the pump..

and it was a manual shut off.. not fast idle, Audi 5000 TD/automatic pump..

the pump i have off a Audi 5000 n/a manual, no manual shut off..

Well after finding a sufficiently old version of ETKA, the 109D pump is an EOL (end of life) number that was specific to an 84 auto trans rabbit, and possibly others but this version of ETKA is not very pleasant about giving applications just from a part number.

It's funny how many specific numbers they had over time for the same basic motor and the same basic pump in the same basic cars.
I'd love to know exactly what they were changing over time.

I bought a seal kit for this one at any rate, I'll seal it up and see what it does I guess.

i called it! had a feeling it was off an auto car. looked like a manual shutdown lever for sure.

glad you figured it out as to what the pump is tho!

Yeah I read a while back that the autos had a manual shut down but it's strange how few still have it.......I guess auto tranny's weren't that common either though.

most probably had the pumps taken off and swapped on a rebuilt unit, without the manual stop lever. its not a requirement on an auto, just a very good idea.
