BEST IS 2.50 COMPLETE TUBING
For good lag.
No point in going larger than your largest port, all you're doing is allowing the air to expand and wasting energy.

2'50 is std for the Pd130 ( race pipe )so it will match the rest of the flow, same with the intercooler intake tubes.

Here's what I've got planned for now (feel free to change my mind)
1 use the stock hose from the turbo it's there why buy something I don't need, rotated 180 into a piece or steel pipe to the intercooler (this is in a Vanagon remember)
2 from what you say I then need a 2.25 conection to the intake manifold so connect to the intercooler with 2.25 pipe then silicone connector to the intake?
3 some how vent the intercooler in the driver's side cavity where the stock air snorkel is on the van possibly install a fan and vent out the rear under the tail light?

ebay seller in the U.K. (mrsilicone )has all the silicone coupling ( metal ) and silicone reducers you will need.

Choose you intercooler Inlet/outlet o.d. will be your silicone i.d. size and go from there

This might work for a fan on the intercooler , try to match the size of the intercooler with the fan diameter, it does have a temp sensor also

Hope this helps
