Oh god!
Poor valves and turbo!
If only the EGt's were monitored we could have a betting pool and see who could get the closest without going over... like The Price is Right!!!

Haha smoky! Careful with those EGT's though!
You know what I said when I watched the first video? This looks like British Columbia! And then I saw your location!
Where in B.C. is it? Looks like the Coquihalla to me.

with a stock exhaust , and no turbo mods , things might be getting "crispy " if you leave your foot in it too long .
the nice thing about having a decent amount of black smoke , is no one wants to tail gate me anymore
..... i've pissed off more than a few people riding my a$$ when there was no need for it .

you'd want to limit that smoke to about 4-5 seconds... another problem with the soot is that it accumulates in your oil. so you need to change the oil a lot more often unless you have a bypass filter that takes a large portion of it out. more abrasives in the oil... it's not just egt's that you need to worry about
i bet that stupid woman thought she was 'green' driving her civic... seems like nobody cares about the big trucks dumping out the soot.. just go after the little guy

In my mind. Diesel soot in the amounts we make is uncomparable to the crap burning gas creates. just because you can't see it doesn't mean its bad for the air. The soot is basically charcoal anyways right?
and yah looks like the coke

nice!
hwy trucks are getting better with emissions, they are cracking down. But the off road side and heavy duty construction they probably don't even know what emissions are haha.

Actually, we build mining trucks, and all our engines must meet emission standards. I doubt that they are as stringent as highway standards, but we have had to do some major redesigns and even dropped specific engine options because of emissions.
