ok, I know the differences between the ALH and AHUs, ALH being longer, so mechanical engine stuff won't swap between the 2,
but, what about electrical stuff? I know the ALH pump has extra pins + different connector, but what about other stuff? I have a mk3 TDI engine harness with a bunch of parts, like MAF, accel sensor, etc, but is there a way to use most of the stuff I do have, but make it wire up to a mk4 dash/ECU/gauge cluster harness, and still work?
basically, are the external sensors on an AHU the same as on an ALH, such as the MAF and water temp sensors and what not.
thanks
At present I am installing a ALH to replace a MK3 1Z engine (same as AHU)
For the pump, is only enough to adapt the MK3 pump's wire on the MK4 pump, or simply put the MK3 pump on ALH engine, but, all electronic VE pump have the same number of wire, the only difference it's that ALH pump have all the wire in only one connector, and another pump have two connector, like 1Z/AHU.
Some adaptation for the 2 oil pressure sensor (very easy) and replace the MK3 temps sensor on the MK4 engine, that's all..
excellent, exactly what I wanted to hear.
thanks
Interesting....
Would mk4 Golf or B5 Passat clocks work with the AHU?
