I just got finished spending the last 2 weeks fixing up the motor on my car and after all that work and looking at all the little odds and ends it needs to look really nice I dont want to even look at the car anymore, so im wondering what it is work to you people. Here is what I have done to it
Rebuilt crank - repaired thrust bearing surface and has tdi sprocket
new main and con rod bearings
rebuilt giles injection pump and new injector nozzels
new timing belt and tensioner
new clutch
turbo has about 35000kms on it
rebuilt cylinder head - about 80,000km on it and never run hard untill warm
new gaskets all around engine - except head gasket
new throwout bearing, pushrod seal and clutch arm shaft seal
new water pump
new rear engine mounts
new shifter bushing
engine was re-ringed at same time as the cylinder head was installed, almost no blowby
the little things that need to be fixed
front grill is messed up, got in a small fender bender and hooks on grill broken
plastic front bumper is scratched and needs to be repainted
new headlight fixtures
both front left and right quarter panels need to be fixed or replaced
holes in strut towers
holes in under body
rear suspensions is bent somewhere and the alingment on the rear tires is way way off, I have a new rear axle with bushing installed already but haven't installed it yet
needs a new exhaust, downpipe back
speedo doesnt work
could use some new seats but they are not that bad
minor rust spots on the car, dings and scratches
lol I think that is it, maybe my mind will change in a while but I have gotten sick of wrenching away at my car all the time, so if anyone wants an engine and tranny that is in really good shape and can toss the body this would be a really good deal.
