1.6/1.9 IDI Engine Dimensions
« on: August 01, 2007, 08:37:52 am »
Can anybody give me some measurements on the 1.6/1.9IDI engine height, width, depth?

I'm looking to fit an IDI into my car and need to know if its possible.

Christmas bump.... anyone got an engine out at the moment and can measure the approximate locations of the mounts, size of the hole, etc ?

Swapping *in* a diesel is a worthy Christmas cause !!

As a matter of fact, I have a 1.6TD sitting on an engine stand right now....in the back shed...over 100 ft away and the snow is just over 3 ft deep. However, it just started raining and we'll see...

I'm heading out right now but should be able to nab some dimensions off of my 1.6 later today.  :)

I happen to have a 1.6 and a 1.9 sitting in the shop behind me. I'll be back in 5 with some numbers

roughly, 24" high, 24" wide and 20" long. That's without the turbo, which would be about another 3" wide

The 1.9 is about an inch taller
