i have a blackstone intercooler with a 1st gen mitsu bov welded to it... can i use it? as a surge protection? how much psi do they hold w/o a vacuum signal? would i use a vacuum signal?
The stock item is a pop off valve that relieves excess pressure as a safety device. You do not need any kind of BOV and trying to make one functional is 100% waste of time.
dang i guess i'll keep this IC for my 8vT or sell it....
i also thought about running an air/air and air/water since i have a spearco awic and this small saab intercooler... might be a little overkill though, im going to be running about 25psi on a vnt17
You don't even need the stock one. Back out the adjusting screw, drop a small cap screw down the hole and snug the adjusting screw against it.
The nice aluminum plug with the green clamp is where the bov used to be on my 1.6TD. They were discontinued on later models.
